As a sophomore, I designed the rear gearbox/transfer case for the 21XT vehicle.
This serves as a final reduction for the drivetrain, housing a two-stage spur gear reduction, as well as a 2WD/4WD shifter and bevel gear reduction to the propshaft. Since we run a loaded half-shaft rear suspension setup, suspension forces on the order of ~3,800 lbf from the rear axles must be supported by the gearbox and its housing.
As a freshman, I designed a lightweighted component for our CVT that directly improved acceleration performance by 3%.
In high school, I was the captain of my school's FIRST Robotics Competition team, Team 5438, the Technological Terrors.
While I am proud of the robots I built, I am even more proud about rebuilding the team after COVID - we started my junior season with five members, and I graduated with the team having almost forty members.
